After having such a good time at last year’s event, Team Brightbox is heading to Edinburgh again later this week for the Scottish Ruby Conference.

Again, we’re sponsoring the event and have provided hosting for the website. Our technical director John Leach is also speaking at the conference – his talk “UNIX: Rediscovering the wheel” will take place in the Great Hall on Friday afternoon.

John, Jeremy & Caius will all be attending the conference so make sure you say hi – and grab one of our always popular t-shirts too!

Brightbox founders Jeremy and John will be attending Conferencia Rails in Madrid later this week.

Brightbox is sponsoring the event and John will be speaking on Thursday about the wonders of UNIX – how its often forgotten tools can help with Ruby on Rails development and deployment.

They’ll also have some of our highly coveted tshirts and stickers to give away so if you’re going, make sure you track them down and say hello.

I’m pleased to announce that Brightbox will be sponsoring the Scotland on Rails conference in Edinburgh (26-28 March 2009). Alan and Paul (and others I’m sure) have done a great job of putting together what promises to be a thoroughly engaging and stimulating schedule, in fact, leading them to sell out before the early bird offer was over :)

John, David, Rahoul, Caius and myself will all be travelling up to Edinburgh for the event – so please come and say “Hi”.

See you at RailsConf Europe 2008 11 Aug 08

Baz, Neil, John and myself will be over at RailsConf Europe 2008 in Berlin from 2-4th September. We decided to go the whole hog this year and become a sponsor, which means we get a cell booth in the exhibition hall as well as our logo burned on attendees’ retinas at any opportunity :)

So, if you’re going, make sure to pop by our booth and say “hello”. The event also falls around our 1st “official” birthday (we have several – a bit like The Queen), so we’ll likely be buying drinks one evening. It’s not all work, work, work you know.

We’ll also have plenty more Brightbox t-shirts to hand out.

Brightbox at FAB 2008 — Files and Backup Seminars 13 Feb 08

I’m attending the UKUUG Files and Backup Seminars next week (19th and 20th February) in London.  It’d be cool to meet up with any customers (or just random friendly geeks) if you’re around.  Beers are on us.  Drop me a line at john at the Brightbox domain (the uk one) and we’ll sort it out.  I’ll be the one with the laptop and the keen interest in data storage.
